Testing is the only way to know for sure. In a trunk, I'd try to keep everything as close to a single point source as possible; ports and subs on the same plane, near each other, in the rear corner. Reflection and cancellation starts fast in a trunk.

Flared ports would be my choice for a daily box. G/L.
