Box design, need some help on it.

Alright, I drew up a quick sketch to get the point across.

Pretty much need some help with tuning.

Not a great pic, or drawing.. But maybe it will get my idea across.

So, as you see the port is external. I want the port to travel though the ski hole in my back seat. I have 8.5"x 8.75" to work with. length shouldn't be an issue.

The box is going to be 2.5 cubes. Tuned at 32hz. please..

Do you have it as an open hole? or do you use a smaller port area, and kind of "maze through it to increase length?

It will most likely have to fold at some point to achieve 32 hz tuning with such a small box. When I get some time later I'll plug in some numbers for you and see what I get. How far out from the back of the box can the port extend?

Ummm, well as far as it has to! the seat will not be able to be occupied anyway, so it can go out to a "reasonable" distance.

That would deffinatly be the easiest thing to do.. It just seems weird.. Almost like having a big hole in the side of you box b/c it has no bends in it..

Yea it would work if you didn't mind port noise like a mother****er. You need at least double that port area, more would be even better. I would use a 6" aero port, 25-26 inches long.

I'll do the aero port thing, and if that doesn't work well, I'll cut the hole into a square and do a slot port.

Does it matter how far the Aero is stuck into the box???
