box design help?

Hey boys, im makin a new box for my mtx 8000 that will fit under the bed in my van, these are the optimum measurements in the pic. i want to make the ports and such arounds those measurements, i can change them if necesarry, there the maximum everything can be.

Does anyone have any opinions or anything, i need to know where to put

the sub and the port if i put one in, also i need to kno how big to make the port? if anyone can help me with any of this, or just give me your general opinion.

I think those are his dimmensions he has to work with. And want some info on a box to drop in there.

i dont see what the problem is. it looks like that space is huge for just a single 10. whats the dept. you could fit a ported box on just one side of the hump thing.

The problem is, i built a box before, and it doesn't sound all that great. i'm not sure wat i want it tuned to, i listen to rap mostly so somewhere in the 30hz range but i also listen to alot of metallica. And yes, those are the dimensions i have to work with, those are the maximum size the of the box, i would like it to look like that well at the front atleast. The gap is so i can still fit a case of beer under my bed.

That's the top view, the front view is 9" high by 4 feet wide with the beer slot fit into it.

According to my calculations you could put a nice ported enclosure for a 12" on the right side of your available space. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 2.00 cubic feet.

I have a 10" mtx 8000 runnin off a kenwood 800. My original plan was to put the sub in the middle of the box facing upwards, likein the narrow spot but i figured that wouldn't work very good if at all. I'm not very good at building boxes so if u have any idea for a box that is those dimension or anything smaller that would work with my amp and sub i would love to hear it.
