I have a 2001 Ram 2500 regular cab and have been trying to get some good bass out of it with the limited space I have. I was running a 10" P3 in a ported box tuned to about 34 Hz and it sounded awesome, the lows were incredible, you wouldn't believe a single 10" sub was making all that noise. The amp I'm using is a Kenwood KAC-9105D, after about 6 months it ripped off a tinsel lead from too much excursion. Rather than buy a new 10" sub I'd rather build a better fitting box for my Sundown SA-8V2 D4. I attached a couple pics of my design and the old setup I had in there. The sub has .5 cuft of air space after displacement and the port is 3" PVC tuned to about 33 Hz. Do you guys have any input on the design? I want to package it tightly so I can save as much room behind the seat as possible and hopefully make it sound as good as the 10 that was in there before.
