im building my first box .... are there any secrets or tips anyone would like to share... any mistakes u made on your first box that you can keep me from stressing over??....im building a ported box for my RF HX2 punch 15" and its gonna be 2.5 ft cubed ... and powered by a JBL 600.1

When I built my first box I didn't take into consideration the thickness of the wood. I ended up cutting my last few pieces down 3/4".

Are you going ported or sealed? Don't forget sub and port (if ported) displacement. Wood glue everything and use screws at least twice as long as the wood is thick every 4" or so.

If you think of something else...give a yell.

just plan it out on paper.. dont worry about it to much, if you make a mistake you can fix it. Worst comes to worst u screw up and spend another $10 on wood. I think i worried about stuff way to much on my first box and thats why i ran into troubles. Measure twice, cut once and u should be just fine.
