The deflectors will help a lot with high excursion subs or if you have limited port area available. They reduce turbulence in the port. They don't really add too much structurally but can reduce port noise.

im assumin you made a typo and mean that paints decreases the bond strength
i didnt know that. it will have screws holdin as well tho
