Should I make the port a little longer or just not worry about it being ~34Hz rather than ~32Hz?

I am going to add 3.5 inches of port length and that should get it back to ~32Hz.

Well I didn't start the box build today, but I hope to within the next day or so.

Should I stick with the original dimensions or would this be better? I am aiming for 2-2.5CuFt at 32Hz.

its not that much of a difference..but if ure going thru factory specs check it with bassbox or win isd..i deviated from my factory specs by three liters and put in the recommended port length..got some sound but didnt feel right..then i changed teh port length added 7 cm to it and was reborn...ran it thru bassbox and had smthg to see...the initial tunning was at 37 Hz instead of the 33 that it should be

What is the purpose of the pieces in the corner? Is it simply to increase structural integrity or does it lower port noise or somethin? Basically, should I do it to my box when I build it?

they decrease port noise, add a little structure i suppose, and basically just make air movement more smooth.

I started my box build today. Sub and port both firing back.

I will get some better pictures tomorrow when I get it all glued together.

Sorry to change the subject slightly, but how important are these? Is the port noise that noticeable without them?

Yes, a corner cracked although we predrilled the holes, but I am expecting the wood filler to take care of that. Live and learn.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to keep the MDF from splitting? I predrilled all the holes. I think the problem may be the screws? I was using 1 5/8" Drywall screws.

keep away from corners with the screws, stay a few inches in
