Your idea sounds all well and good. I questioned your enclosure size with the idea that it was a tad on the small side... I went and looked at JL's specs, and you're right on, but honestly port noise is gonna be your only enemy here... A 6x2 port = 12sq"s of port (thanks whoever did all that math for me above. ) . JL's specs call for a 14x1.75" port which is double what your's is at 24sq"s of port...

Not trying to rip on you, but I would hate to see you complete a nice counsel and have to redo a bunch of it because all you hear is staticy wind noises... Think about making that little bigger.

yes. and you would have to double the length of them anyway just to get the same tuning frequency.

if i were you, i would figure some way to make the port like 3x6 at least, and fire it backwards with the same direction as the sub. honestly theres going to be some mad cancelation if you fire the sub back and the port up with them being that close to you.
