BOX BUILD WORKLOG: Center Console w/ one 12w7

Started on it today. I'm doing a mix of fiberglass and 3/4" MDF, with as much 3/4" mdf as possible. It's a center console that's going into a regular cab silverado with a 12w7 firing backwards, and a port coming out of the middle. It's gonna be around 1.75 ft^3 tuned to 32Hz.

Finished the cuts for everything but the port pieces tonight. I'm going to track now, but I'll cut the port pieces out and assemble all the wood when I get home tonight.

I'll eventually cover it in black and grey vinyl(IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE TO FIND SOME FAIRLY CHEAP, LET ME KN0W). This thing should sound NICE when I'm finished with it.

BTW, I've got a Xenon 1200.1 powering that 12w7.

mmm patio furniture work benches ftw. Looks nice, is the port going to be firing upwards in the middle? If it is then I guess you'll have easy airconditioning lol.

I'm using a jigsaw for the curved cuts and a 10 yr old circular saw for everything else

This is my 6th box with that saw though, so I've gotten fairly good at using it.

Perfectly straight cuts so far.

so the front of that box is cut off by the port? according to the one drawing - waste of airspace or just cut it off at the port wall?

because you have 12sq." of port.

the port, in actuality, is moved farther back than the drawing shows. I have plenty of airspace; right at 1.75 cu ft after sub displacement. throw in some polyfil, and it'd be perfect.
