well i dont think the carpeting was the issue.. it was the fact that the box was designed wrong.... the reason of this so called bashing

I would have at least tried the box to see if I liked it or not before having another one built. Spy will make sure the customer is happy with the end results I assume so there's really no need to crucify him. I'm a big fan of Spy's boxes as well as Mobeious and always look at both of their builds. The one thing I learn from this box is to always use a sharp razor blade, other than that it's not that bad.

sharp blade will clean up the carpet, no biggie. Looks like spray glue got on the paint in the port "assuming" he didn't tape it off.

I would try the box first, but it's on the big side for a 12 and tuned too low. How much port area?

I see no issue with the box besides some rough carpet around the holes..

I hope SPY doesn't get screwed.

Well the kid got another box built by another member here, so apparently it looks that way. Pretty screwed up if you ask me. Maybe Spy will shed more light on the situation.

There is another thread here for a box being built for this benner kid. He basically says he likes this one and then some people come in here stating that SPY's box building skills don't look as good as they used to and then he says he paid 175 smacks for it shipped and a couple select people are like I wouldn't have paid that and then he says I can't believe I just paid this much for the box after he seeing the carpeting job and next thing you know some other guy has a thread up for the same member who just got his box built by SPY.

Maybe they have something worked out and they have talked......talking about spy and the customer, because if this kid didn't tell SPY he didn't want the box and then went with someone else, then that is fawked IMO.

Yeah, I saw that thread with the other box for benner... I really hope that other guy made sure it was cleared up.

I had no idea he was having another box built until I saw the build log.

He came to me and said he wanted a box 2.5 ft^3 tuned to 33hz, originally for a Fi Q IIRC. I started doing the design and then he PM'ed me saying he was changing to the HDC3 and I asked him if he wanted to change the tuning or not. He asked what I thought about it and I told him.

I ran my HDC310 in 1.8ft^3 tuned to 33hz with about 1400 watts going to it. the box was bigger than recommended but I wasn't giving it much power either. I told him I liked the 33hz tuning myself but if he asked around the forum I'm sure everyone would tell him to tune to 38-40 hz. But that it was HIS decision and to let me know what he wanted to do.

As for why he decided to have another box build, I don't know. He has not Pm'ed me since I started the build log so I don;t know any more than any of you.

Like I posted in the other thread, I have paid for both, and yes I am keeping both. Don't worry about it.
