Box Build for amedeuce

Sorry man.... its fun to tease you guys every now and again. Have to keep you on your toes....
haha, that's true. At least you gave us another build log in between... and a great one at that. I would wish you luck as you proceed to do your own box, but it's obvious that you do not need that. Top notch skills man!

Yea I figured this log would be a hit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Thanks for the compliments as well.
Your builds usually are. And compliments are well deserved.

As usual, Im jealous of your talent. I think you are simply the best box builder Ive ever seen.

May I ask a question without sounding like Im tying to be the expert? lol You said you had to do the ends twice. Would it have been easier to make the end walls the outside edge, and butt the long walls up to it, rather than tucking the outer walls in? That way you could have just gone back and flushed it off with a router instead of needing the outer walls to be cut exact.

I only ask this to learn, not to suggest you screwed up. I suspect you have a good reason for doing it the other way. Thannks.

Thanks man. As far as the sides go.... There is actually a couple reasons...

First, usually the sides get inset, for the carpeting. But there wasnt enough volume in this box to get the desired airspace, so we had to push them out flush.

Secondly, I believe doing the sides like this is much stronger, than sticking them on the outside. I could be wrong though...

But I trust Chris knows what he is doing with the designs. So I just build, I dont ask questions, lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Thanks Chris //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
The sides were a little bit of a challenge to get a good fit. I had to do them twice..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Before seeing the sides put on, I thought you were going to the front baffle first. Then you'd be able to just place a piece of wood for the sides and just use a flush/panel bit and router away.

nevertheless, it came out very nicely.

edit: didn't see that audioholic brought it up.

Quite honestly the biggest reason is because when I built it, I used Birch, and it looked better with having the sides like that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It really wouldn't matter either way, I just prefer the sides to be the smaller piece anyway, just personal preference I guess.

Bump for some installed pics, come on amedeuce I know there are more interested to see it all installed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yes, sadly there are is an issue and I need to come up with a solution.

The box fits perfectly under the seats. The seat legs have to be off in order for this box to work.

No big deal, enclosure will support the seats at the right height and seat angle except where the 60/40 split seats meet up there is a welded on bracket where the seat support legs attach to that comes down and rests on top of the box putting the seats in a weird angle

Plus because of the seat mechanisms and what not the box had to be a certain width and this width falls between the outer seat brackets so it sits weird that way also...

Pics...

OK first pic show bracket and where on top of the enclosure it is hitting.

Second pic

RED Lines show where outer seat brackets are and they are not resting on box

White Arrow shows where the two seats come together.

BLUE Arrows show where the seat is raised in that area due to the bracket and how it leans towards the other end.

GREEN Line shows where I might cut the enclosure so it will fit 2 eights under the longer bench seat perfectly.

I may be able to cut away those areas and see how far down the brackets will stick into the box and build around them from the inside to seal up the box.
