Box Build ----Fiberglass & MDF

You may have noticed I didn't lay mat on the exterior of the box.

I did a couple layers on the inside and used this special mixture of thixotropic/resin mix.

You can see how thick it is at the ring. It is more solid than the MDF is.

That can be a possiblility.

And thanks for the comments everyone.

How did you measure the volume of the fiberglassed part of the box?

Packing peanuts.

Tape off the inside part of the port.

Tape off the subs mounting holes.

Pour peanuts inside the box thru the opening i have in the rear till full.

Epty peanuts into a box and measure the width, depth and heigth of them inside the box.

Calculate.

Subtract the subs displacments.

In my case--- .85 cuft

In order to answer your question, I would need to know what model (e.g. SW4200, SW7524DVC). Also, are you looking to make a ported box or sealed?
