i built this box using the tutorial in the sticky section...

internal dimensions:

20.5" high by 48.5"wide and 23.3" deep

port dimensions are 20.5" high by 6" wide and 13.3" deep, tunes to 35hz (got these dimensions from winISD pro)

the net with all displacements is 12ft^3

2 l7 15's will be going in it.

i just wanted to make sure the port dimensions were right and if 123sq.in is optimal for the l7's, if so then im going to start this box next weekend.

um first of all i have a 2002 jeep liberty and you cannot fit that box in there unless you plan on losing the back seats.

max dims. are 43w 21ish tall and like 18 deep and that would be cramming it in.

its hard to fit a solid 6 cubes yet alone 12

im putting down the right half of the seats and putting it in sideways...

yes believe me i've tried my box in many different ways and it sounds like butt anywhere in front of the seats unless you put both down and fire into the cabin area

this is mine.

thats about as big as you can get with back seats

well the box is subs up and port pointed toward the right of the car in the back, but if its going to sound like s**t then im probably going to have to put the seats down.

well i guess ill just loose the back seats, im going to try subs up and port back unless you think it will sound better with both back????

well you could probably get about 6.25 cubes after port and sub displacement if you built it with an angles back to form with the seats. then you get to keep the back seat. if you put the back seat down you might as well just do a wall or i would say its just a waste of space.

oh and the roof flexes a **** load on these with your subs up

ya i know the roof on these jeeps move way too much..lol, i don't know the first thing on building a wall.... so i think im just going to stick with a box, i was thinking a box like this:

h=22 w=36 and d=34.3 those are outside dimensions, the net is 12 exactly and port is 123in^2 tuned at 35hz

EDIT: well if you mean like a box thats 37in high by 37in wide and20.2in deep (outside dimensions) does that sound better than the one above. and port and subs pointed forward??

i think im just going to use the 12 cubes at 35hz, not the wall, dont feel like going thru the trouble of making it, it should still sound good....now should i put the subs up, port back, or put both back???

12 cubes for 2 15s is massive

i would go 8 cubes at 35hz with a rather big port. sus and port right behind the front seats. then you would have cargo area in the back for batts amps etc.. or just for stufff. you could fire the port right above the center console.

it would be sexy.

and loud

veryyy loud

well i still want to be able to see out my rear window and a box thats 22"high by 37"wide and 33"deep is good im gonna go with what kicker recommends max ported which is 6cubes each so a 12 cube box. 123sq.in. port 35hz this would still be loud right??

yeah but from expirience large ported boxes sound way shitty and your sub will lack in loudness aroud 48+hz most likely.

look at my box. 4.5 cubes at 32 for one 15. and it not only sounds shitty but the sub is almost mechanically maxed out at 750watts rms and im not happy with the intensity around 50+hz.

in all seriousness 8 cubes at 35 is good. i know kicker recommends large boxes but you wont be happy with that.

heres an idea that will work for you:

45w x 22h x 22.25deep. 6.5 inch port opening without the second piece so its like this "||".

that gives you about 8.5cubes at 35-36hz with 133.25 inches of port area.

put the port in the middle of the box and have the subs up or facing the seats. make sure the box is close to the front seats and then you will be able to see out the back. you will still have cargo room for amps batts and other stuff. plus to top it all off it will get fvcking loud.

ya that sound good 45 wide is just skinny enough to fit..lol, if up put the subs up should i put the port towards the rear or the front seats... and i dont know alot about those ports so how deep should it be to tune it at 35-36hz
