box and tunning for fi ssd 12?

I have three question!

My box will be realy unregular shape, built in two section differente sixe so how the shape of the box affect the output?

My goal is to have the better sql possible in a boat, i see on the fi website 2.5 cube for optimal performance? And i tune my box at ?? Hz?

I will donwload winisd for help me too, i can't ask someone to buid box because the box will be under my driver seat in a compartiment!

What is the best wood for my project?

The tuning kind of depends on what music you like listening to. If you prefer rap/hiphop, which has lower frequencies, you will want a lower tuning like 32hz. If you prefer higher bass found in stuff like rock and electronic, you might want to tune a bit higher to 35-36.

For wood, I would get the $40 3/4" birch ply that you can get at lowes/home depot. It's lighter than MDF and easier to work with, plus it will be a little more forgiving against moisture. Speaking of, you should get some polyurethane (small can is like 7 or 8 bucks I think) to help protect the box against moisture.

My box is built but i have the porte to install,my box have 2.4 cube after brace and sub,i think but im not sure 4 inche diameter with 11inche long will give me 35hz,i read a lot about port and i dont find how to put the right diameter?

4 inche is good or nut?
