How does this look for a 4th? Room is not a issue. Looking for full SQ not so much output. Output never hurts though. I don't want to have to build 4 boxes to get it right. Need 20-63hz

Mine is SC so it has more motor force. More than enough power on tap. Need as flat as possible. Going in a trunk. Seats stay up, no pass through, pretty closed in but it gets plenty into the cabin ported.

well build the sealed portion, play a sweep and see which tone is the loudest between 45-52hz

Tune ported to that resonance to have the flatness you desire

1:1 ratio would be the most "sq" or musical. Is it for your little 8?

btw you linked re audio's amps

i take it you get the most out of the sub and the loudest if you tune to the cars resonance right ?

i need to figure out my trucks resonance.

ok.is there another way of testing?

sorry noloud....

also is it possible to get 20 to 63 tune ?

and that 8 is a beast....
Your good. Just some ideas I'm tossing around. I want to change something but I don't have anything to change.

Thinking a plexi 4th would be some more show, judges like show.

^^^^ tline would be nasty

there's not another way I know of testing other than starting with the sealed shell. Im sure there is a way. I just don't know of it.

yes you want the sealed and ported to be **** near as close to 1:1 as possible for sq and musicality purposes.

I had my XFL 12 in 1.1 sealed and 2.4 ported. 1.1 sealed brought my sealed resonance just to around 46hz and I believe the tuning of my ported was 45.7. Was loud on just 800 rms. Efficient as hell. Just wasn't as musical as could be. Played from 26-57ish. Fell off hard above and below that

ok you say use a sealed box to check. well what is the sub is not recommended for sealed. would that make any difference ?

for the past year i have been wanting to do this.

and by adding deadener that will chance the res. right ?

and noloud, i dont blame you. im doing the same thing.

trying to change things up as im never satisfied .

T line goes off cone area right? I'm not sure what it is. I guess I could just go in between a 8 and 10
cone area and fs

if it's not recommended for sealed, I recommend 6th order if space permitting. If not, regular ported will trump a 4th

adding deadener will change resonance slightly. Nothing that will be a total deal breaker

Listed Fs is pre break in. I think I'm going to just leave it alone. It's going to be a pita
