bought some leds, where to put them?

in one of the brand new air nautiques in my area, there are a bunch of goodies. it has like 30 or so LEDS in it, in the bottom of every cup holder, behind all the speaker grilles, everywhere, and it looks super clean, not even the slightest bit tacky. if you go crazy with them, dont forget the door pockets, cupholders, etc... if not, then i would just avoid them all together. dont make it tacky though

this is what im trying to do, just have to see how much trouble it is

screw the vents...who cares... make em useful and put em behind the door handle and/or control. How many times have you had a passenger search in the dark for the handle? Also, aimed on to the floor is good. I am thinking about useability is all, not just for installing lights for the "ricer" look. (aka--mounting in a/c vents, speakers, etc. )

they are low powered but I WOULD NOT hook them up to the REM wre off of your HU! If you insist on making them work with the stereo then at least install a relay. Better = install a micro switch in the dash, run it to a relay, pull power off of fuse block so they will not remain lit when the power to the car is off (make sure you also fuse this line). Lots of options.... just DONT run them directly from the power off of your HU to turn them on.

good idea. i like things that have a purpose. my moms ride has them stock, very dim ones, you can barely see them but if you reach near the door handles, controls, anything on the dash, console, overhead area then they project the red light off of your hand and back onto the area that you are reaching for making it easy to spot things in the dark.

Nice thing bout L.E.D.s there so small i did some in my car here's what i came up with check it out

I took out the stock shifter light and wired this L.e.d. to the orignal wiring so still works with the stock switch:)

Here's a shot of my whole car of the inside so far at night 2 3inch mini l.e.d. neon bars on the passenger and driver side. the vents , shifter are bendable single l.e.d.s

Plan on doing alot more plan on doing em behind my speaker/sub grille's and one behind my grille on my car:) but that might give you some ideas

Go with the handle idea, and installing them where the courtesy lights would go under the dash looks good too. Just don't go too crazy with them, seems like they could be the kind of thing where the saying "less is more" really fits.
