Hi everyone

I sold my hardtop 99 mustang and bought a 00 convertible GT mustang. I had 2 12's in the trunk and when I went to put it in my new mustang it didn't fit!! So now I gotta go buy a new Sub/Box. I have only found one so far and was wondering if it will sound good in my convertible with the top up/down. Here is the link:

Kicker 08TS10L72 Ported truck enclosure with one 10" Solo-Baric L7 subwoofer

It says its made for a truck but it looks like it will fit inside my trunk. My amp is an Alpine MRP500 and does 500 watts @ 2ohms..I noticed that the subwoofer is 2 ohms impedence...and I know that you can only get 1ohms and 4 ohms from it...or am I wrong? Also will I lose any sound bass going from 2 subs to 1?

Thanks everyone!!

subs dont put out power they take power. A single sa-10 in the proper box with the correct amount of power will get loud and will cost under $200.. There are many more but I am just listing this one cause the list is way to long to type out.

Nope, probably not. It just won't really sound good in anything. It being an angled enclosure makes no different as to what vehicle it'll perform well in. You're overpaying for the sub, and the box. The sub isn't very good to begin with, it's all right, just over priced. Given a really specific install, it could probably sound fine. And the box is, more likely than not, tuned really high to give a very peaky response and minimal quality. You'd be much better off getting a different woofer, and having a custom, woofer specific box built... for a drastic increase in performance and quality, and about $50 more in price.

Thanks for your help. I have decided to pick up 2 of these subwoofers from ebay; I can do a local pick up for them:

Polk Audio MM 1040 DVC 10" Car Audio Subwoofer 700W | eBay

They are 350 watts RMS each so if it's not as loud as I want it I will upgrade the amp in the future.

Then I'm going to buy two 10" boxes...but which one would be better ported or sealed; since its a convertible soft top?

I already bought the subwoofers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif...and that store is in the US. I have to pay customs if I bought it which would probably be over $100. I just want to know which box I should get a sealed or ported box.

you actually could have used the 12s ,you would just have to put them in separate boxes ,or build one in the trunk.my 2 rf 10s would have been perfect for you at 150 plus shipping for both.oh well
