Being that FI is a direct and internet only company (in the USA) it is inevitable that you will see quite a few of their products for sale through the same medium that they are sold -- internet forums. Although I tend to agree with you, I would say (just using another internet based company (or at least I think your only based online)), you see far more Fi's for sale than you do Sundownz.

Maybe people just like to switch up subs more often than amps.

G5 is the first sub that comes to my mind when I think SQ. I'm not really big into strictly SQ installs myself, but the amount of output from this sub that comes from a single 12" on 500 rms is something to be cherished. I personally would take a G5 over a Q any day of the week. I'd say SI Mag vs. G5 is a much better comparison lol.

yea i think the bostons sound really good, they all pound and have good sound quality, i personally have 2 spgs in my car running off the gt-28's & i couldnt be anymore happy with how loud they are & how good they sound.

personally i love all boston stuff..at this moment im in between fi and ssa icons..but believe me when i say it wouldnt take much to get me to go all boston..from subs to speakers and especially there amps....also reason you dont see boston so much on here is because people look at the sub and the specs and then see the price and feel its a rip off...also about 13 years ago i had my first system it was 2 8'' bostons in a ported box off of some generic pull out and a generic targa 1000 watt amp and to be honest it pounded hard..people where always surprised when they saw how crap my equipment was other then the subs..

The G5 is nice with its feild rebuilb capibility's.Anyone ever hear the oval boston sub that came out around the same time??I seen it at a local audio shop, but it was just setting in the case on display.

Man, I hate how the companies around me only have the low-line stuff. I mean, They carry Polk, Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine and a lot of nice brands, but no-one gets the nice stuff. It's all their low-end lines and it really pisses me off that they would call them an "authorized dealer" when they only sell 1/4th of the stuff they make.

that being said, I almost went with a complete boston setup before i made a gamble and went all rainbow. Rainbow is great, but I could have gotten more with boston (as it is cheaper). They seem like a good company.

Polk on the other hand, I didn't like as much. I had the Momo 6.5" Components, and while i wasn't giving them too much power (95 watts from a power acoustik amp, or so it said) they really didn't impress me. The Tweeters were insanely harsh for silk tweeters (-6 on the crossover and i still lowered the treble EQ from -2 to -4 depending on the CD). That is in no way a knock on the SR series, but I haven't been impressed with Polk for awhile.

by the way even though woofersetc wants about $350 for that 12'' boston, ebay has them for only $190

Nice to see someone mention the Polk SR. I had that one in the running. Another great SQ sub. Bostons due tend to be more expensive on their higher end stuff, but most people seem to be very happy with them. I am very happy with the G5.

i had a polk component set in a older eclipse, & i personally liked how it sounded, i dont know if i would say the clarity is better than the boston spz's i have in my new car, but where im from alot of people talk down on polk & boston because they never heard it, it seems like alot of ppl here are into rockford & kicker, but personally i only do boston or polk, after hearing the spg & the g5 in a shop down here i honestly think 1 spg is about equal to 2 12" g5's, i think its amazing how loud they pound with the small amount of airspace required, if i have time i'll get a picture of my setup.
