re sx and popping noise

I am running 2 re sx dual 2 ohms running at .5 on a mmats 2100.05 gain set to 1/4 to 80hz the subs are separately chambered 2 ft*3 at 35 hz. Problem is on certain songS when the bass hits the subs both make a horrible popping sounds and cut off for a second and will redo everytime the same note hits or if the volume is turned up to high I switched the subs out for my spl premiers and it does not do the

Bottoming out would not make the system 'cut off for a second' after it occurs. I suspect the problem lies in the fact you dont seem to know how to set gains properly. Knowing how to set a gain properly means never describing it as 'set at 1/4'. Telling us you set your gain at 1/4 means nothing to us, we have no idea of the signal strength your amplifier is receiving. For all we know, you are clipping the hell out it, even at merely the 1/4 gain setting.

The system cutting out usually means the amplifier is being driven into protection mode for one reason or another.

Thanks for the quick responses. I am runningnit off a avh5700dvd right now which is 2 volts signal. Also the amps protection. Light does not co e on and the amp never gets hot. I have no subsonic filter on my amp or radio

Both subs are popping and

both are brand new I used 2 of the 5 I have that I never used. I was thinkng tinsel slap cause the leads are so long but I coveredthem and it still does it. How do I post bids on here
