Boss or TMA?

I just got a 10 inch Jl audio W3v3, single voice coil, 4 ohm, 500 watts RMS sub. I'm looking for an amp to power it.

I've narrowed it down to the Boss Audio SE2000M and the TMA T500.1.

I haven't heard much about the Boss so I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it?

Also, the Boss puts out 500 watts RMS at 4 ohms, while the TMA only puts out 340 watts at 4 ohms for another 20 bucks.

Any suggestions on which one I should go with? I listen to rock so I don't really think I need all 500 watts, do I?

Thanks for any help.

Boss is flea market garbage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

TMA is alright.

Post up a budget and we can find you a nice 500w @ 4 ohm amp.

Hahaha...that's kinda like asking "should I get a colonoscopy or a urethroscopy?"...they both ****. Just kidding, seriously though, stay away from boss amps, they are grossly over rated and have horrable build quality. The TMA amps aren't that bad for budget amps. Of the 2 you listed, I'd choose the TMA...but search the classifieds here and I am sure you'll find something 10 times better for the same $$$.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm kinda new to this if you didn't pick that up yet. What do you mean by bridging?
I would go with a bigger amp myself. Mono channel. Class D. Keep the gains & ect, low, so not to blow your 10. Youll want more power/sub once you start.

Search the classifieds. There are some real good deal's in there.. There is a Kole 3000D for 125+s/h. that will more then meet what you have and keep you happy all the way if you decide to upgrade you wont have to buy another.

go TMAs i went that route a couple years ago now with the ol ladys car and got her 2 12s they can handle the power(seen 1200 rms) (rated at 300) and took it all and still pound hard to this day in here cirrus
I dont believe you. There's simply no way they would rate a sub at 1/4 of what it would really handle. Im guessing you had an amp hooked to it that had "1200 watts we swear!!!" painted on the front of it. Or you had the gains set artificially low so it never saw the full 1200.
