Bose System

A girl I work with has a Bose sytem in her Infiniti I30. She just recently blew the 8" sub and is looking for a replacement. Is she going to have to go through a dealership to replace it? I've tried to talk her into redoing her system, but she doesn't want to spend the money. How simple is it for her to replace that sub? Thanks

Is she wanting to just replace a stock sub, or hook up an amp/sub/box??

well...outside audio components dont mix well with bose equipment...she should either have a dealer replace it or just buy one and have it sound even worse..
