Bose home theater

I have a half bose home theatre that I put together myself. I don't really like their cube systems, but I do really like their tower speakers and the larger center channel speakers they have. The highs on their speakers are very crisp and detailed. I don't use a bose receiver though, and I don't like their subwoofers either.

Actually, the highs are the WORST part of Bose speakers, they have never heard of a driver material other than paper or of dome tweeters. Their paper cone tweeters turn extremely beemy at higher volumes and drop out totally above ~15kHz.

NO. They are not like JL. JL makes good products along with marketing and high prices. They deserve their asking price.

They're horribly tinny. Those who say they sound good, get some floorstanding mains and bookshelf surrounds then come back and say you're sorry.

just like one member said.some people just dont want huge speaker's in the living room area not only that some people have no clue on how to put together a somewhat "good" home thater system.. so they go pick up a bose system

no high's, no low's, it must be BOSE

Bose only sound good when paired with high end Monster cable and a high priced brand name lcd like Sony

Ok to audiophiles like you guys who expect so much from speakers and crap Bose speakers are gonna sound crappy for the money you're paying. But most people who just want a home theater setup with limited space and what not are perfectly content with Bose setups. They are doing something right with their speakers if they keep selling them.

I think people are missing the point lol, they're obviously not going to be the best speakers in the world, and that's what people are comparing them to. And they're mainly used for movies, so they don't need extremely smooth highs and hit lows like the best subwoofer around. Jeez

Bose would be an OK value if they were priced about 1/10th of what they are now.

If they werent blatently ripping off people not "in the know" with clever marketing schemes then they probably wouldnt have as bad of a rep as they do

No you have missed the point I stated numerous times. The only thing BOSE does right is marekting. Thats why they sell. There are other small form "acoustimass" wannabe setups that sound just as good for a lot less. Just because something sells doesn't mean it is good.

I also disagree with your statement of it not needing lows because it is for movies. There are more extreme lows in movies than music.

Actually, movies are more dynamic than most songs. A sub box for HT would get a lower tuning frequency than one would in my car.

I almost hate Bose as much as I hate the 95% of the arrogant douches that own their systems.

I remember when I was installing, I'd have cockbags come in and make little comments about how they have a Bose system...usually I'd respond with, "I'm sorry to hear that".
