Bose home theater

Not crap at all. But spending that amount of money you can get a better sounding system.

and the 3-2-1 systems actually sound really good considering it is only two small speakers.

Maybe to a tone deaf fool. There is gaps in the response on thos systems. They are marketing crap. You can get better for LESS not just at the same price.
Full range sound coming from 3" drivers just ain't happening. I'll never buy into Bose's gimmicks.

My parents have the 3-2-1 home theater setup. I think it sounds quite good, obviously it's not going to be as good as having bigger speakers with dedicated highs, mids, lows etc.

The big selling point is that the speakers can achieve great sound in so little form. A lot of people don't want speakers around the room, or big towers in front. I love watching movies with it when I go home //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

There are other small form factor solutions with the same shitty sound for less. It is marketing fluff. It's like owning a Cadillac cimmaron. Underneath that badge it was still a shitty Cavalier.

I agree with most people dont want a living room full of equipment

The price is a high but its a name people know and some trust

I have heard the bose stuff , i forget the model number but it was the small cubes and the bass module, price was like $2k

didnt sound like $2k but it did sound good

I can see $500 but not $2k

Bose's normal bookshelf and floor standers can sound ok, I have a 10 year old set of 301s and they sound decent, not $300 good, but better than any shelf system. I can definitely a HUGE difference between the 301s and my B&Ws, night and day for sure. As for the cube systems, they are over priced underperforming crap. They don't reach much above ~15kHz and drop out at ~300Hz but the "sub" doesn't pick up until about ~150Hz, so there is a huge gap in the response, I would never buy a Bose cube set, or another Bose product in any of their ranges.

I am not an audiophile but always thought the set at target with two speakers and a sub sounded ok. Would be esp good for a small room like a dorm or something.
Yea, but for the price they are charging you could buy a decent small 5.1 setup from Best Buy for A LOT less.
