Boomintahoe
@loss33 anything new with the Tahoe?

I spent about 3 hrs yesterday replacing the 2 gauge wiring with 1/0 gauge for the big 3. Of those 3 hrs, 1 hour or more was spent removing and putting back the ground to engine block nut. It's not friggin easy. It's just in back of the main coolant hose, pita to get to and around. Underneath the vehicle, I got lots of a/c piping in the way to be able to get my hand/fingers in between. You'll see once you get to yours.
wasnt that difficult for me? or are you talking about the ground strap to the back of the block, because **** that **** its never getting touched unless i drop the motor lol

im talking about the ground on the driver side of the block under the 2nd or 3rd coil pack

Nope, this one is just above the big protective plate just under the partial motor, very close to the serpentine belt. Also close to the tensioner. I didn't remove any parts but boy I was thinking about it...very frustrating spending way too much time on one dam bolt.

Wonder if that's the same wire that your talking about that's running atop of the chassis and then I see it disappear to the right somewhere....I haven't looked yet but it's got protective shielding from heat.

I havent done much with it since i need to get it to pass inspection lol.
I ended up removing the running boards like yall said and fixed up the door panels a bit.

Found that i have i dont know 3.5 size speakers in 6.5 holes lmao!..

Those tiny pioneer speakers are **** and i have a radio hooked up just floating since i never got to buying the radio mounts and kit, just bought the harness.

Its a crappy 25$ bluetooth radio from walmart for now.

I probably wont do anything else till i get the inspection and registration done then fix the really loose steering.

The 22's dont help with the steering either lol.

Ah making it legal 1st....and inspections. Gotcha. 1 thing atta time.

I can tell ya right now, those doors will hold a 6.5" speaker easily. I had to make baffles on the front from 1/4" material to prevent the window from hitting the magnet. And the tweeter location in the armrests sorta, the tweeters will slide into the "spikes/hooks" it provides. Hope this helps.

Yeah i may have to do that since the windows go all the way down in front.

But i noticed the back windows motor partially covers the speaker holes so i may leave those tiny speakers there till i decide on doing a 5 channel.

As far as the ground i know which one your talking about and its really easy to get to from the bottom.

Theres 3 engine ground points tho.

I plan to change the intake gaskets soon //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Also partially fixed steering by the adjusting screw on steering box.

Yeah I was practically all over trying to get that dam bolt in its place....underneath, my azz hanging in the air humped over you name it!! I finally got 'er in by feel.

There's a black ground wire that runs along atop of the frame then goes somewhere to the engine block. Not sure where it exactly ends but I'm hoping that one will be easier. There's some heat shield protecting it from the engine block heat. That's prob another ground?

I just posted a few pics of what I did on CACO under my build thread.

The 4.8, 5.3 are a bit different on design compared to nbs gm trucks.

Older versions even have 5.0, 5.7, 6.2 engines..

Oh gotcha. I like the square bodies better than the "rounded type" after 1999. At that point, I noticed they shrunk in size and added a 3rd row. Older ones have so much more room.
