Boomin Cars?? A$$HATS like this give us a bad name....UNITE!!

Ill make this very short and to the point.
Loud pipes save lives. Loud stereos dont.

/discussion.

P.S. We have 2 harleys in the house. Both with loud aftermarket exaust. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Okay, I'll give one example. Guy on a motor cycle is stopped at a red light on the bottom of a hill. A guy in a car is driving in the same direction on the other side of said hill, traveling well above the speed limit.. Say this guy is smoking a cigarette, drops cigarette, is now looking for said cigarette. Guy on motor cycle notices guy in car is not slowing down, so he/she rev's the engine, guy in car hears loud pipes and slams on brakes..

Could a horn not perform the same function?

How does loud pipes save lives? By making an optional activity safer ONLY to the one participating in said activity at the EXPENSE of the peace and quiet of others.
No one is required to ride a motorcycle.
Some police officers are required to ride motorcycles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Many, many, many of which are in my fathers bike club, and all of which state cearly that "loud pipes save lives or even their own". They have been fighting for a long time to get louder pipes on them. One of them was actually hit by a motorist that wasnt paying attention...the person even said..."I didnt see you". So hearing would also be just another safty procausion.

Not when they dont make horns for bikes that are decently loud.

I would bet a loud aftermarket horn would cost as much as a set of aftermarket pipes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

And the pipes are always on, the horn has to be pressed...therefor the pipes are more worthwhile IMO

I wouldn't dispute costs...but a loud horn doesn't disturb the peace the same way aftermarket pipes do.

As for the loud pipes reduce the odds of being sideswiped, wouldn't a loud system perform the same function?

honestly, if i were searching for a cigarette on the ground, i would hardly pay attention to any exhaust noise. i just dont see it.

besides, if i saw someone hauling *** at me from the other side of the street, reving my engine would hardly be my choice of action. i would much rather just jet the **** out of the car's way instead of hoping my exhaust will make him stop.

I'm sure it could.
I for one, love the sound of loud pipes. I guess because I grew up around them, idk.
I like the sound of quiet. I don't really have a dog in the system fight because if someone said they could hear it outside the cab, it would mean I did a bad job.

I agree with you there. This isnt a valid example on how pipes would help.

It was merely an example. I could give you my fathers phone number if you would like to hear directly from the horse's mouth as it were.

I don't have a problem with loud pipes. If you do then so be it.

I do have a problem with barking dogs though, I can't stand that shit.

well now, since the heat of the battle has calmed down...i would like to invite jntar, psycho, and flipx to some make up *** at my house.

We never fought...so the *** wouldnt be all that great. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
