BoogerMan's 12k Crossfire build in a 1998 Toyota T100 SR5

Plastidip results. Also installed the new signal lights and parking lights that I tinted with 20% film a little while back.

Excellent work bro everything you've done has been top-notch start to finish hope mine comes out half as nice
Thanks man. I'm really happy with everything so far! Take your time is the best advice I can give lol.

Got a few more things done.

Siliconed my rear window latch shut. Also siliconed between the sliding window and stationary window. Don't want any water leaks.

Put 2 layers of closed cell foam in the track that the window slides on. Trying to prevent this back window from making horrific noises haha.

Did a little paint correction today. Doesn't look too bad for a paint job done in 1997.

Wrote this up for a buddy:

Wash vehicle. Go over everything with clay bar and quik detailer to get the surface smooth. Lightly wet sand any orange peal or rough spots with 2000 grit then hit those with ultimate compound to remove most of the haze created by the sanding. Then go over the entire vehicle with ultimate compound again to remove any left over haze and any heavy surface scratches. Next go over everything with swirl x to remove light swirls and scuffs. Then ultimate polish to really bring out the color. Finish it all off with a coat of nxt gen tech wax 2.0. All the products used are Meguiars.

The box is finished and loaded up. Turned out shiny and smooth. It's not perfect but we spent a lot of time on it and I'm very happy with the results. Exactly what I wanted //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Still need to bolt it down and load up subs/wire, plexi window, and LEDs, but it's pretty much done! Still polishing the braces.

Timbren SES springs doing work! The box probably weighs 600 lbs as is and my truck only dropped a 1/2" from 40.5" to 40" from the ground to fender.

Man that paint looks like it was just done yesterday would have never thought it could come back like that I'm definitely taking my build a lot slower than I would like mostly due to work and other obligations not to mention finances but my main goal is just to get everything installed in playing then I will come back later and put the finishing touches on it I know it's not the best way but after not having a system for about 10 years it's killing me plus whil I do want mine to be nice I am just not prepared to put that much effort into it right now as far as making it look like yours I do carpentry and remodeling for a living between that and car audio I've done enough custom work to know that the type of quality you are achieving takes massive amounts of time and patience although one day I would like to either get mine on that level or maybe on the next build

Thanks man I appreciate it! The hood and camper do have a fresh coat of paint, but the sides of the truck is still factory! Pictures are deceiving though. It definitely doesn't look perfect in person! But it is much better than it was and I'm happy with the results.

Got a little more done the past couple weekends. Heading over to my buddies tomorrow to get more work done on the box. Trying to get this playing by April 21st for a show in Tucson.

Plastidipped my side steps and side trim piece. Sprayed my door handles with semi gloss rustoleum and semi gloss clear so it holds up for a longer time. No more chrome. I'm definitely digging it.

The piece on the right will house a black and clear acrylic window with a crossfire decal. Next up is 2 part foam to get a countour between the speaker pod and the acrylic window.

Front doors are deadened and pretty solid now. Also put closed cell foam between anything plastic and metal that could possibly rattle.

Got started on my roof. Decided to bolt through it since it was already all messed up from the welding lol.

Used 3/8" hex bolts, washers with rubber backing, lock washers, lock nuts, and lots of loctite.

Put closed cell foam along the steel for when the wood comes in contact.

I first used 2x8s but it dropped my roof lower than I liked. They were also bowed down the center so the next layer of mdf wouldn't have laid flat.

d1fe985d714218810ee8cafd9ae2188a.jpg

Redid it with 3/4" mdf and it is is much more level now. Shot some spray foam in there as well.

b5f2f051b1cc973f6338ce99754a749c.jpg

Used 3/4" mdf for the final layer and PL3x. Got 3 of the 5 pieces up and spray foamed. Will do the rest next week.

Also ran an RGB wire to the center of the roof. Im thinking about doing a floating backlit crossfire logo. We will see.

We made more progress on the doors and box today.

Added some body filler around the speaker pod and my buddy went to town with the two part foam.

Used 3/8" aluminum threaded rod for the terminals. Should help keep the wiring really clean inside the box.

6f0d6059a028a60130f87c25f8ae3dc0.jpg

Made some 6" jumper cables for the top sub terminals to the threaded rod. Still need to make longer ones for the lower sub terminals.

Last picture before we called it a night. The plexi window and box has been predrilled. All we have left is to predrill the lid and finish wiring the subs. It will be finished and loaded in the truck next weekend. Going to finish the roof this week then hopefully get started on the rear walls next weekend.

Always enjoy your updates, great work!
Much easier looking at pictures than the countless hours that went into it
Thanks man! It has been a lot of work, and still a ton to do, but it will be worth it.

Roof is done, besides fiberglassing and body filling around the edges, seams, and holes, but that will happen later down the road. Going to try to get the 4/0 alt runs done later this week. Then we will get the box done and loaded this weekend and hopefully start on the cab walls //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Looking great, but 2 years into this already? Man you are patient.
Thanks, and yeah it definitely has taken a lot longer than I hoped. Started off with a 6 month goal but the welding took forever. My fault for going to the guy I did. Even without that though, it still would take longer than expected. My buddy who did the box moved houses halfway through and needed a 6 month break. My other buddy and I only get to work on the doors like twice a month lol. There are weeks where nothing gets done because life and scheduling gets in the way. I was bummed about it taking so long at first, but now I just say it will get done when it gets done haha. It’s moving along a little better now though. Trying to get it playing and somewhat done by April 21st for a big local show. Then finish up beauty stuff over the summer or after.

Did a little work on my quarter panel windows today after work.

Wrapped the inside with black vinyl.

Lined the rubber seal with silicone. Don’t want water coming through anywhere lol
