No your rights are not waived, but the law recognizes the school's interests in maintaining discipline and its ability to perform its function of educating the students. It balances those governmental interests when considering a restriction on speech.

Ok, time to chime in here.
Marijuana is wonderful. It is natural, and I thank the lord for putting such a plant on our earth.

Beer and liquor should be banned. It is really disturbing to think how many people die from this horrible stuff. Being from an alcoholic family, I have seem the worst.

I don't turn to the herb because I cannot deal with my life. In all reality, I am one of the most level headed people you will ever meet. If taking a few tokes before the end of my successful day is wrong....**** I don't want to be right.

This country needs to reverse its decisions. Hopefully in the next 20 years things will be different. Liquor and all that should be illegal....and I can go buy a pack of "Greens" at my local convenience store. Fast food and KFC's stocks will rise to the highest levels ever.

I work full time, and put work first. But after work, it's smoke time. I am a "motivated stoner" (And no, thats not an oxymoron!).

Those who have never tried it, you really have no SAY in this matter. To those who have, and didn't like it, to each their own!

I love Mary, and Mary loves me....it's a great relationship.

P.S.- I am a window cleaner and make 35k a year, and I've just started. My former boss, who is a die hard toker, makes 100k a year working 6 hours a day 5 days a week. Yeah MY LIFE WILL GO FAR, it's all how you apply it. I have never been a corporate stiff, nor do I ever want to be. Drug tests are violations of human rights, and discriminates **** good people from jobs just because they like to burn. There are exceptions, and those people who burn 24/7 and DON'T DO ANYTHING WITH THEIR LIVES, ruin it for people like me who like to enlighten myself through an herb.

i have a 3.85 GPA in college? I have 2 jobs? I volunteer at an animal shelter once a week? how is that any different to a person who does the same as i do, but without smoking.

He can't drop out of school, he was a senior in 2002... I think its safe to assume that he is done with high school already.

Another detail of the story... he wasn't even on school grounds when he held the poster. Its really none of the school business then.

So whats the deal? We honor those firefighters that die in 9/11 and make a movie out of it. We have praise all fire fighters in the country for a couple of months after a tragedy? Then all of a sudden being a firefighter is undesirable? Hell i would love to be a fire fighter and be a part of the reserves.
