Ok i'm going to be installing a pioneer avic n2 into an 2001 bmw 330ci coupe...tried searcing but couldn't find any specific info on how to take the dash/console apart...any help is appreciated.

Don't BMW radios come out from the front? I'm thinking some sort of small allen key or something is used on each side...

Had a 01 325ci.

I know you remove that trim panel that goes from left to right and around the HU. Never did it myself, but there is a place that sells a LCD Trim panel, and he has a write up of the install. Check e46fanatics (4got the name of the forum).

first you have to remove the trim, i had a 3 series, if you have alluminum trim you haeve to remove these they will show you screws you have to remove those screws and your stereo will come out, i installed my AVIC n2 a while back, if you show pics i can help you.

if your car was like mine, you are able to mount it behind the glove box there is room back there, with some foam and padded insulation.

Here's what i came up with for ya im not sure which you needed so i posted both.

All:

Remove trim for center console.

Remove insert in function carrier.

In version with on-board monitor, remove heater controls.

Loosen screws (1).

Loosen screws (1).

Pull out function carrier for switch center (2) in direction of arrow

Disconnect plug connections (1) and (2) and remove function carrier for switch center (3).

That is for the center console

Ok so I finally got to see the BMW that i'm installing in...it's hella nice...not something that I would want to own myself, but hella nice...so anyway needless to say I want this install to go flawlessly...I was psyched to find out that the battery is in the trunk which is for obvious reasons, really sweet...here's what's going in:

Avic-N2

JL 1000/1

2 JL subs(they are 12's not sure what series...I will find out tonight)

So I guess I am just looking for general advice from anyone who has installed in a 2001 bmw 330ci coupe or has installed an avic-N2...
