Blowthrough Rear Deck Cadillac Deville

I've been working non stop and have come close to completing both my cars systems (for now lol) so I'm helping my cousin work on his 1995 Deville. His car is decently loud but I been telling him that his trunk is eating all his bass, so we've attempted a blow through in his rear deck on the quest for more bass.

He has stock 140 amp alt, all 0 Guage including big 3, Hifonics 2600 (Brutus I think), Db drive plt wd 15 (2500 rms), box 3cf@35

I'm not sure what head unit he has but it's a Kenwood double din and all Kenwood coaxial speakers.

My first blow through ever so I don't know if I'm doing it right nor will it make a difference but I doubt it'll make it quiter.

Still gonna stain and lacquer the birch bezel

Lol if your wondering, the brown fabric is panty hose stretched over the carpet hole with the bezel on top. Lmao he has like $2 in this project.
Wow, great idea to use those as a cheep acousically-transparent materiel

Yeah I was at Walmart looking at the fabric section and couldn't find anything similar. Also, I didn't want to go up the road to hobby lobby. They are cheap, 33cents a pair. We cut them in half and did 4 layers so it wouldn't be so transparent. They were stretched almost to most of their elasticity but they also make other garments such as shirts that are bigger. Lol I'm the king of ghetto rigging. Who else you know fit a Mustang alternator on an escort....

Lol, how did you manage that? And the Mustang alt worked on the escort? And is still going?

Yep they are both 6 & 12 o'clock. Just the Mustang had a slightly larger bolt spacing, maybe like 2 cm. I also had to cut a large piece off the alt casing since the mount is a tad different. The reason I did it is because my stock alt is 75 amps, Mustang is 110. I bet your wondering, all that work for 35 more amps?

Well the problem is no one makes a direct fit high output for my car but they do for the Mustang. I also had to convert the three pin harness which I got wrong at first and fried a voltage regulator. It's fixed now though. It actually helped a lot already.

I was trying to fit a cs144 (GM 140amps) but the overall circumference was too big.

Is it still holding up tho? Hasn't burned up anything?

I'm not going to lie. Is there really any difference between alts besides the amperage and casing (obviously quality varies), but are for example two alts made by same company and same amperage, but made for two different cars are technically the same, but in different casings to fit a specific car?

I've had it in there for about two weeks so I can't answer on durability but I've had a cs144 from a mid 90s GM car on my Cadillac for about a year and going.

As far as my knowledge the only real difference in most alternators are the mounting tabs and the voltage regulators. Other than that they are all the same concept and charge close to the same voltage as far as oem goes.

I’ve tried it in 3 different vehicles and multiple locations. Rear deck is best for me. Unless it’s a midbass I don’t want anything in the rear...
