Blown subs help

But in all honesty, I'm guessing you could scrape up either one/two respectable woofers in the classifieds for 200 or less. Though the new box would go to waste unless you made it two separate chambers and added 2 more 12's later.

True, I could run two woofers in the one chamber for now and pick up two later.
Exactly.

Maybe even snatch up 2 RE's and start your idea over. Very carefully lol.

I suggest trying to piece together some RE SR's if you can manage it.

Or just find whatever is compatible with your airspace/tuning and match them up with another pair later.

idk what to do right now, I really need to figure out what's going on with these subs first...they're probably blown though. I'm broke right now, I'd need to save up for a few weeks before buying anything.

My birthday is in a few weeks, but I don't know if the parents are going to go for buying any audio shits //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

The CA scene doesn't love me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I could afford everything just fine, until this happened.

Well, as I was pulling the subs out tonight, the wiring was coming undone from the subs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif Fucking shitty spade terminal connectors. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Two subs are blown, two are good. One side just completely wasn't connected the day I blew the two and that totally explains why it didn't seem as loud as it should have been. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'm gonna grab another two subs in a few weeks, until then I'll just listen to the two I have in right now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif Also gonna call the warranty dept. and see if they can cut me a deal, seeing as how they don't want to honor their "warranty".

Either way, I'm happy...er. I'd rather pay $80 for two subs rather than $180 for four.

How much did you pay for those RE RE subs? You shouldve looked around more before buying them, just because the company makes decent subs that doesnt mean the low end line is decent, looks like bullshit china junk to me, doesnt even have push terminals, lulz.

Check these out, they are serious budget subs. If you buy them and are dissapointed, ill personally give you what you paid for them + shipping. These actually handle rated power, and a little more. I threw 1500 at a pair of the 15s for about 6 months, abused the shit out of them, and theyre still fine. 50% over rated power.

I cooked some of the 10s with a 60hz test tone on 2k for about 3 mins though, pyramid has a beast warranty, send your shit back and cover shipping and they send you new ones every time, lol.

PAIR 2000W 2 PYRAMID PW1286X 12" Car Subs/Subwoofers - eBay (item 230452567151 end time Apr-20-10 17:11:32 PDT)

Wow, that's strong. Wish I would have looked around a little more, I was just afraid of the name. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Blowing the RE's was completely my fault though. 900W @ 2 on the amp and only 350W worth of subs...

Other than that, I was completely happy with how good they sounded. Cheap China crap, maybe, but with a Fs of 20 they sounded so nice tuned down to 33.

I also paid around the same price for these as those Pyramids. The Pyramids are rated at 500W and these are only 175W, and the Pyramids have a 2" coil, the RE's have a 1.5".

The pyramids actually have a 2.5" 4 layer aluminum coil for the 10 and 12", vented basket/spider and pole piece. The specs all the sellers have published are the specs from the older model, the newer ones are actually rated for 600w. Im dead serious man, after pounding some with 750w bass heavy music for about an hour, they dont even get warm.

2 of the 15s, sealed, on only 1000 at the time.

Wow, impressive. I might just pick up a pair and another 1200D, then blow minds when I show people how loud Pyramid can be. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Thats what i do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I "battled" a guy with 2 15" L7s on a zx1500 ported in an SUV who was talking all kinds of shit, with those 2 15s sealed in a trunk car i flat out embarrased him. VERY efficient subs with little power.
