Blow the receiver?

I have my 12" icon sitting in my room in my 2.2 cube enclosure (tuned to 32hz) and was wondering if it would blow my receiver if I hooked it up without an amp for the time being?

If you're reciever is stable to the Impedence it runs at i dont see why not, just dont overdrive you're reciever.

I ran my reciever at 4 ohms for a few weeks and nothing happened. But the sub was only 100 RMS and i only played it for short periods of time.

do-able, but not recommended.

Most decent receivers are 4ohm stable as long as you don't crank it all the way up for long periods of time.

make sure you use a LP filter...
