Blackberry Bold. Opinions?

So It's time for me to renew my contract and upgrade my phone. I'm still on my family's AT&T plan because I'm a sophomore in college. This will probably be the last phone I get on this plan, I'm not the type to change phones every 6 months, I stick it out for the 2 years. So when I upgrade this time, 2 years from now I'll be getting my own plan, probably with someone different.

I've never had a bad-*** phone or even something close to it, so now I want to do it big. I really want something that can do everything I've ever thought of and more. This phone seems pretty legit, I was wondering if anyone else has used it or has one.

iPhone 3g. easier to set up and shit. Blackberries are pointless if you are not a lawyer or need to be connected to your work email all day every day.

Buddy of mine get alerted on his when people do shit on his myspace page. Pointless.

I don't really see the point in a Blackberry if your not going to get the whole data package.

If your going to get the whole deal then they are cool, but expensive.

Iphone or Voyager would be cool too.

I have to deal with them constantly. We use an enterprise server here at work. That connects the attorneys with their work emails. I just don't see why the average joe would need one.

iPhone would give you more shit to do. Shit that you would actually do.

agreed, BBs have their purpose; corporate email, contacts, and calendars integrated with a BES. Without BES, go a different route; it just becomes a semi-smartphone.

Yep...... It was iffy when I used it at the time. I was driving faster than it would update, but I got to where I needed to get.

I love my blackberry bold, and I wouldnt ever think twice of trading it in for an iphone. First and foremost, nothing is better at messaging, emails, mms, aim, gmail, msn, ect ect... Secondly, the screen is absolutely amazing, looks far better than the iphone. Better res, although the iphone has a bigger screen. bbs have tons of apps, just no app store yet, but apparently one is coming in a few months. Its a very well constructed phone. As for the bb being hard to use, I never had that issue. With any smart phone, you are going to have to do a bit extra then you would with any other regular phone. Now for the data plans, as far as I know, the iphone is more. Could be wrong though.

I like the email on it because I can set up my work (exchange) and personal (gmail, hotmail, and yahoo) with ease.

Oh and you can play music on it. 16 gigs worth if you go with that one.
