BL not hittin so hard, help

Hey, I got my BL installed last wednesday, and i set the gains right last night. I know it shouldnt be as quiet as this. I wired the dual 2 to 1 ohm, and its set to 40 volts. (1700 watts) It doesnt hit very hard at all at high volumes, i can barely even hear it. I was just wondering what a problem could be. I know NOLIMIT's hits pretty **** hard, and mines not hitting nearly as hard as his. Any ideas?

check your wiring config on the sub. you may have the polarity misconfiged

What kind of vehicle is this in? Is the box facing towards the rear or front? Did you build the box, if so check for some leaks in it.

Check the settings on teh HU? Sub out all the way up, bass boost off, etc...

Yeah, Something is not right man.. My bl hits real hard and I'm only giving it 1000-1200W, right now.. Sorry, i don't have any suggestions, other then the obvious stuff.

you sure you set the gains with the DMM right?

i remember my first time i used the DMM i fuqed up cause it wasnt set right

I'm almost positive i have to gains set correctly with my DMM. I could have it wired wrong, but i pretty sure its pos-pos-out, and Neg-neg-out.

When i play the test tones, its decently loud, but then i play rap, i can hear it decently, and cant hear it at all with rock.

I agree with you man, i set my nine for like 1200 watts, came out to like 34 or something. Gains were less than 1/4 of the way up. Doesn't get loud at all, the thing barely moves. Turn the gain up to about 3/8 of the way up and it shines. I say just set it by ear.......**** DMM!!

Most rock music peaks around -9 to -3 db so if you set your gains with a 0db test tone you are not getting anywhere near the output you should.

Just eather try it with a -3 db test tone or set it by ear.

Then something else is wrong not the gain.

Is this music you downloaded?

Did you try a store bought cd?

yeah, Ive tried store music, and i have my ipod hooked up to my alipne. Its good quality music.

What kinda readings should i get from my DMM when i test the ohms
