bit of a dilemma

i recently bought 3 15'' L7s but the box doesnt fit into my trunk so now im gonna have a custom ported box built with only 2 15''s the other one my bro is gonna buy it off me so its no problem how would it be louder sealed or ported? and is a hk4000d too much power for them? the L7's are in my avatar oya if i get a sealed box for 2 15''s its $80 and 2 15''s ported $135

Ported would be louder, but with those prices I'm smelling pre fab, so I bet they sound like crap. Find out how big the box is as a proper sized sealed box would be better than an undersized ported one.

I heard 2 15 L7's over the weekend in a pre fab ported box, that couldn't have been over 4 1/2 cubes. They made noise, but that was about it. Luckily I'm building the guy a custom ported 12 cube enclosure for 3 of them, so he'll be slammin next weekend.

cmon help me out i need few more replies before i confirm to have the guy make me a ported box and to set the gains correctly is it better with the port on both sides or both in the middle?
