They can get into the thousands if you really want to "hop it up." But ~$400 should get you a decent RTR and remote.

i paid 420 for my RTR savage 25. plus hop ups and fuel and other necessities....somewhere around 900 bucks i have spent on mine, truck itself included.

After I get done it will. Power to weight ratio in RC cars is closer to race/ drag cars than regular production cars. 4wd touring cars are really ridiculously fast. Most are equipped with two speed trannys, and can attain 60-MPH easily out of the box with some minor tuning. Getting big ol monster trucks to cruise that fast is more challenging.
