I have a 250amp fuse in the front connected to the battery, and where the fuse is half of the fuse holder melted, and the wire on the end of where the fuse melted, the sleeve of the wire burnt..

My amp has a total number of 4 fuses, rated at 40 each = 160.. is it bad to have that big of a fuse?

I'm also waiting on some money to buy a roll of 50ft knukonceptz 0 gauge, for big3, extra batt in the back..

also, when I run the wire for the batt in the back, can I make like a 2 foot power cable from the batt to the amp in the back?

you would want at least a 160 amp fuse on ur wire to the amp, now once you do big 3. i would fuse the alt + to batt up front + with at least a 200a fuse

then the run to the back batt at least 200a.

then a 160a fuse from the rear batt to sub amp..

Im going to guess that you are running a 4awg now?
0 gauge

right now I have a 250amp fuse going to the back, but why did it melt? and burn half the wire..

I guessing since it melted you have bigger problems. Either a loose connection or a possible short somewhere (most likely around the fuse holder would be my guess.

Or you are just trying to pull too much current through the wire.

read above, 0 gauge..
If its zero gauge your problem lies elsewhere. Its either a bad connection on the fuse holder generating heat or the some strands of wire sticking out grounding out or something along those lines is what I would think.

Got any pics of the fuse holder installed?

here are some pics.. i just looked and part of the other end melted..
