I voted yes just because classes that dont have any form of attendance I tend to miss entirely too much and leads to a much worse grade. I'd say about 50% of my classes have some form of attendance policy such as being allowed to miss 3 classes and for every class missed afterwards is 1% off your final grade.

You don't just pay money and receive a degree...you have to actually pass the classes (i.e. tests and exams)...if someone can do that without having to actually attend class (i.e. independent study) then more power to them, that is their right.

I say no because thats why it's college. Not having an attendance policy teaches students that they have to be responsible for themsleves and get up and go to class or they will not succeed. Which in turn rolls over to the work force when your graduate, but the only difference is you don't get multiple chances with a job to correct things.

no.

But where i go to school a lot of teachers have them.

I show up because I'm interested and paying for it.. but this isn't high school and it shouldn't be mandated.

In south Dakota, you have to take a PE class to get a BA.. thats another thing i think is bullshit.. i mean i don't really care but i think its stupid.. lol you can take in online even so what is the point? I would rather take another class in my major.

Some of my classes are just writing down notes from a power point presentation that the teachers also post online....so why go to that class? Others I definitely feel I need to be there for every session.

Hmm i will vote no for the convenience factor but then i will have to say yes because i have missed more class this semester than any other in my college career and my grades are for sure suffering //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I voted yes... My college has an attendance policy, and as gay as that sounds, it makes me go to class and learn. If there weren't an attendance policy, I'd just sleep all the time.

x2 we don't have one and i have no initiative to go to class i just sleep all the time

but i like my sleep so i say no
