Big K and south La

if you dont mind me asking prowler what town/city do they live in
and we still have cable and power................for now:uhoh:
They lived in NO - in the Garden District //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

To those that would like to know Lafayette fared pretty well from what I saw driving through it this morning.

They have power, businesses are open, life is going on - things seem to be pretty normal outside of gas prices spiking overnight.

Only real concern there, I would guess, is the absolute madhouse of refugees streaming out of Orleans and Jefferson parishes causing traffic snarls.

Yup - as I was on my way back to town with my load of crawfish my bosslady called me and told me to fill both tanks on the truck I was driving the first place I came to with diesel - so I did.

After getting back to the restaurant I went and filled up my car.

I'm wondering, though - is it only Circle Ks that are out of gas..they're the only ones I saw that have quit selling it and put garbage bags over the pump heads.

Chevrons, Texacos, Exxons, RaceTracs, Shell Marts, the Murphy Oil Company stations in front of the Wal-Marts....stills selling gas. People are naturally pretty concerned about it, though...and me right along with them. BOTH of my jobs depend on fuel being available. No fuel ~ I don't work.

Edit:

Prowler, did your family fair ok or have you heard yet?
My sis and her entourage made it out with her Odyssey, my bro-n-law's 4x4 Ram, my two nieces, assorted clothes, small valuables like jewelry and such, and a few toys for the girls. If it's not on the preceding list they no longer own it. But they made it out with their lives....everything else can be replaced.

Its good that they got out before it hit, and its horrible that they lost all of there possessions but at a time like this "life" is the most important thing

It's $6/gallon in Atlanta, too, folks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

???What??? You do know that it is aginst the law for them to jack up the price during a desaster. I cant remember the exact amount, let me search.
