Big 3 still dimming. Please help.

Okay, Here is my story. I've got a 2003 Buick regal gs. I recently put a pair of 12" RE Se subs in. They are running off a Sundown saz 1000 wired @ 1 ohm.

I just did the big 3 today to help with dimming. I used 2/0 gauge wire from my local auto parts store. This thing still dims really bad. I don't really notice a difference from before. Do you think my alt. is pooched or Could there be other issues? My stock alt is supposed to be 105 amps

Edit: On a separate not I was thinking of getting HID headlights how well do they handle the voltage drops?

Big 3 is not a solution for dimming, it can actually make it worse because it lowers the resistance of the system and makes it easier for your system to draw the current away. Larger alt and more batteries is a better solution.

Really...FML

I was hoping to avoid another battery.

Any other opinions?

Big 3 actually helped the dimming a lot on my truck...that and replacing the OEM battery with a Kinetik...although I am now gathering the supplies to add a second battery under the hood as I have the space. Hopefully that will completely fix any dimming issues.

Either battery or alt!!! IMO you should go alt first, but everyone here seems battery crazy
tha't's just cause a batt is so much cheaper and easier to put into a car than an alt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Yeah, alts are pretty expensive...and I can't tell you how many tools got thrown in the process of trying to change my alt. Working on C-17's or C-5's is an easier task than changing my **** alt, LOL. There was a nut that was stuck on, so it took forever...**** rust.

yeah man, i need to buy an HO alt, but they are expensive as cawk and installing them in a honda? fcuk that's going to be a pain. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

You drive a honda too huh? It's actually VERY roomy. If that D@MN nut wasn't rusted on, it would've been a piece of cake. It wouldn't have taken me freakin' 4 HOURS, lol, to get that **** nut off. Talk about gay.

But yeah in my honda, it's a 4 cyl, there is a ton of room for changing the alt. Hell, I could probably do a dual setup too...the only thing that sucks is the belt wrap around the alt pulley. I can't get rid of the effin' squeal when my car starts up. It does it for about 1-10 seconds, then just magically goes away.

But to the OP...Alt in the long run, batt for now...see, no derailing going on here...
