BIG 3 question

Well... I've had my Big 3 Upgrade done for a while now...

... I just was curious...

Would it just be a waste of time to add more runs of 4awg???

... For those who might not understand:

Battery Ground to Frame ( Add 1-2 Runs of 4awg )

Alt to Battery Positive ( Add 1-2 Runs 4awg )

Engine Block to Frame ( Add 1-2 Runs 4awg )

.... I don't have an HO Alt yet... I have a '99 Nissan Sentra GXE... And I refuse to pay $375+ for just 30 more amps...

SO!!! Dumb, Waste, or Will help... * Advice is welcomed also... *

B/c I was told by another installer:

.... Doing Big 3 with 0 gauge is a good idea BUT!!!... What's the point if you don't have a 0 gauge kit running from front to back...

Pretty much saying that I'm not gonna see the difference between the two.

He's wrong, the more surface area there is for your power to travel on the better. If you don't understand, ask yourself why less resistance from your alternator to your battery would be a bad thing?

bigger the wire the better, but anything bigger then stock will be beneficial

Take your alty to a shop that rebuilds altys. There's a place in BR that can redo them for under 200 and basically double the amperage, or more. My mazda truck in 2000 had a redone stock alty, from 63 amps to 155. And it only costed me $199.99 plus tax.

but dont upgrade your alt without the big 3. and if he cant afford 0 guage for his big 3 i dont think he can afford an alt

4 ga is plenty large for big 3 upgrades......If you know the total AMP ratings of the wire

your installing on a particular application why would you want to buy double the size needed?

I upgrade my system every... 6-10ish months.... And it keeps getting bigger...

... I can afford everything I want FYI.

... I just don't see the point in spending $360+ for only 40amp more.... ( Would you spend that much - 80A alt to a 120A alt for $360+ ) ... If you say yes, you're a dumb ***... ( Sorry ).

Hmm, That's a good point about the resistance. I guess I'll go and BUY me some 1/0 awg wire... maybe just run an entire kit... that's gonna take some **** time...

For 80amp alt there is no reason in hell to run bigger then 4ga as your big three. If you have extra wire you could run more grounds but as for alt 2 front batt your okay. anything bigger is superflousous.
