Big 3 finally accomplished today

grounding issue maybe?
If you're talking about the dimming I'm still getting, we've all concluded that a Caprice just has a crappy electrical system overall. I'm planning on upgrading some more factory wiring in the future to further help with this. I still dim, however, my voltage drops are not nearly as bad as they were before. I'm only going from 14.4 to maybe 13.8 at idle when before I'd drop sometimes below 12. I'm sure my 105 amp alt isn't the best either.

Unfortunately no. I'm not at home today and I don't have any pics on my iPod I could upload. There's a small rubber plug, kinda the shape of an oval or maybe more like a racetrack, behind the drivers side wheel well on the firewall. It's kinda far down. You'll have to remove the bars that are in the corner to be able to get your hands down there for the 1/0. It'll seem impossible to be able to get the 1/0 through, be patient with it. You'll get the right angle eventually and it'll slip right in, kinda popping a cherry...lol.

think it would be more easy to get to plug from under the car?

Voltage may also be controlled by the onboard computer...I know mine is. Unless I decide to go out and get an aftermarket voltage regulator, my voltage can vary between 11.5V and 15.5V...all depends on the load the computer senses, temperature, etc. I'm leaving mine as is for now as everything sounds fine and I really don't want to end up ****ing something up by bypassing the onboard voltage regulator.

Seeing that my car is from 1994, with OBD 1, I would assume the computer isn't that advanced in there and there is no voltage control. I've seen with some temperatures, generally hotter, the voltage goes down a little. When It's cold outside, the voltage tends to go up.

good work and those terminals look familiar //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Yep, thanks and thanks again. They worked out real well. My only gripe with them is I have to leave the garage, come inside, and use my table vice to crimp them...lol. That's with all 1/0 ring terminals though I'd assume. I believe I've even had to do that for one of my 4 gauge terminals in the past.

I stick a flathead , flat on those terminals and pop it with a hammer. Works great //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Hmm... I never thought of that. I don't mind using the table vice to do it. It really crimps those mofos on tight.

oh yeah, vices are great if you have them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
this dissappoints me. when i crimped mine i didnt even think to use my vice! lol i sat with some pliers squeezing the hell out of them multiple times until my hands hurt when i crimped mine lol its crimped very well, but still a PITA

hate to be a broken record but to still be getting dimming that just doesnt seem right. my civic has a 70 amp alt, no big 3, and im running 900 rms with no dimming and my voltage stays between 14.3-13 at all times. I have a stinger spv35 battery

ITS kool i am sure i will see the spot just wondering if i could het the same spot from under the car
Ohhhhhhh..... Wow, I'm dumb. I know what you're asking now. Duh. Okay, you want to know if it's possible to use the hole I used but access it from under the car. No. It's not. There's no way to do that. You have to do it from above. The easiest way is taking out the two bars that are in the upper corner of the engine bay.

My voltage stays between 14.4 and 13.8 unless I have the air on or something. It's still enough to dim the lights in the car, but I'm not dropping to anywhere near to what it was before. The big 3 definitely helped. Before I'd drop down to under 12. Like I said back on page 1 I think, I may run a new wire to the main fuse box as well, like a 4 AWG to replace the 10 AWG (?) factory wire. This I believe would fix my dimming issue. I'm just glad I'm not getting a huge drop anymore.
