so how would one fix a blown output? my p3002 fired up just great as i was about to make a vid for someone who wants to trade with me,when my dumb ass forgot to tighten the negative wire on the sub which then proceed to touch the positive terminal on the sub creating a nice little spark and now PROTECT MODE! so any way to fix the output or am i fucked?

and please, yes i know NOOB mistake we all have one or two, keep the jokes out.... i would greatly appreciate it!

Anything can be repaired. Not everything is worth paying someone else to repair. You likely need the output pair at a minimum. A DMM and basic mechanical/soldering skills for sure. A service manual is handy to set idle current, DC offset, check for failed resistors, etc. Transistors are cheap (unless you're looking for an old, rare TO3 case pair).

You're probably right. TO3's haven't been made in quite a while. I've a feeling my circa 1983 amp has them. Never had a problem (knock on head) to date. I hope I never need to find out. The old Alpine keeps chuggging along... I suspect the old electrolytics could use a changeout though.
