Big 3 finally accomplished today

It's been a while since I've started contemplating doing the big 3. Well, today I bit the bullet and did it with 1/0 gauge stinger pro and jl wiring. I've still got a little dimming, but it's nothing like before. I guess my stock 105 amp alternator isn't quite enough. Looks like I'll be getting a new alternator soon.

How much power is your system rated at, 700wrms?
It's probably a little closer to 1150 watts rms. My 4 channel is about 500-550 rms and my mono's birthsheet says 638 rms @ 2 ohms and 14.4 volts which is what I run it at. I'll possibly upgrade my mono in the future.

It'll sound a lot different with a bigger mono amp, trust me.

I went from a 600w @ 2 ohm amp for my 2 Type R's to a 1000w @ 2 ohms and it was a very audible difference.

Oh yeah. I know. I'm more concerned about getting a bigger box tuned lower than what I have right now. After that I'll probably be looking into a high output alternator. Then from there, maybe an Alpine MRD-M1000. The bigger box should be coming in the next couple of weeks hopefully.

just out of curiousity; is wire with the fuse on it your power to the amp? im doing the big 3 in a few days; saw that and didnt know if id need one
Yes. Let me tell you, it was a b*tch to get that thing through a factory hole in my firewall. I had no problem with my previous setups (8 AWG and 4 AWG), but this one was difficult to say the least.

some people fuse the alt>+ wirei didn't but i have a stock alt. no way that thing gets to 300a

...i hope
That's something I looked into, but I figured the factory 8 gauge that's on there isn't fused and it's still a factory alternator so I didn't do it. I'm planning on going to either a 160 amp or a 200 amp. At that point I'll delete the factory wire but still not fuse the 1/0.

looks good, huge engine bay easy to work on im surestupid compact saturn:furious:
I love having all that space. Most of the time I don't have any problems getting to whatever it is I'm fixing/upgrading. There are definitely still some tight spots though.
