Better amp for daily? Memphis 4kw or Atomic 5000

Memphis is a great amp, but yes it is a current hog and will fry in a heart beat with low voltage.
I would get the atomic to have the headroom later on, and imo, it will like the .5 ohm better than the memphis.

With either amp, as I am sure you know, you'll definantly have to watch your voltage. And with the alt, have you ever considered getting a custom alt built?

Yes, but the only companies capable of making it want a lot of money for a little bit of amps, as I posted earlier. Is there some other custom alt idea you're speaking of?

it wont fry any faster than any other amp on the market with low voltage. I ran the 4kw with a ho alt and a single stinger sp1700 in the trunk and it wasnt a crazy current hog.

direct fit just means itll plug/fit right in ,. if you have to get a new plug so be it, its still better then paying more for something that ez...

If I remember correctly, the issue with the stock alt is with the computer system and regulator - something is extremely abnormal with the way it is setup.

Nice to know as I was under the impression that they hate anything below 12v, I was definantly looking at getting a pair in the near future.

I contacted Isuzu about my stock alternator, and none of the techs could tell me what it was.
I went in to a dealership, but apparently I got there too late (from Clemson to Greenville, 5 pm on a Saturday, I was like WTF?!)

yeah they are well worth it. stapped pair over 8000 watts. definatly gonna need more batteries though.

Have you tried excessive amperage for the alt? Or considered a custom dual alt setup?

i'm still saying atomic, just a good overall amp and the headroom is always great.
