best way to remove tint?

im planning to tint my maxima but the place im going to to tint it is charging 80-100 dollars to remove tint. so im planning on removing it myself to save that removal fee. what do yall use to remove your tint?

ohh yea back window you might want them to do IF you have the rear defrost on the inside of the window. Scraping off rear defrost = no good

no the best way and its easy on you. peel it off. razor blades and old rags. either goo gone or good vinyl remover(smells like oranges) spray on and scrub off might need razor blade for light stuff.

x2. dont wanna mess up the rear defrost. u better be careful with it. make sure u let it warm up a bit leave it in the sun for a couple hours to let it warm up the glue.

Rags are the absolute messiest way to remove glue. If you want to make a mess use rags.

The easiest method has not yet been mentioned in this thread.

Heat gun or hair dryer, heat up the window from teh outside, and peel slowly.

When hot, the glue sticks to the tint and not to the window.

I work at a tint shop. F*** ammonia - heat gun is the easiest method.

Go get a good one with a handle because your fingers will hurt like crazy by the time you are done if you don't.

I know pepboys has them in the 99 cent thing or any hardware store should have one.

I always used a torch, but Ive been doing it for a long time..dont recommend just anyone bust out the torch and get after it. For really stubborn glue, Id use simple pink.

and if you get glue stuck on the window with defroster lines, a scotchbrite sponge with goo gone with work.

i was told to use scothbrite pads the red ones after i wrestle the film off. would doing the rear window be a 2 person job one with the heat gun and one pulling the film off. i have to have all mine redone. my rear window is 3 pieces, and all of my windows have lil bubbles.
