best way to install

i have this H/U that i never use and my escort LX doesnt have a cd player and i dont want to rip apart the dash to take out the tape player cuz its my dads car, so i have it sitting in the glove compartment. whats the best way to wire it up so i dont do to much damage to the car trying to find power?

whats a install kit, i usually just wire the memory and positive up to a inline fuse 12v. right now i have the wiring going through one of the rubber seals in the firewall with a group of other wires and i conect them straight to the battery. i would like to just have the wires all stay in the car without running shit through the firewall and direct conecting to the battery/

it's not that hard to install an aftermarket radio and dash kit. besides you need the speaker wires from behind the stereo even if you put it in the glove box. have fun extending those wires. it's more work than it's really worth. 15-30 minute job max is what it should be. very simple. and i drive an escort se. circuit city ripped me off on the dash kit tho. $50. blows.

a dash kit, a wireing harness for the car from your local car audio shop, and your good to go just use the factory wireing seems easier than running all new wire and having the dam thing in the dash

haha, yeh that sounds alot more simple, right now i have 4 speakers throughout the car that i put in my self so i could hook them up to the head unit i have in the glove box. the only problem is i dont have the money to buy a big kit like that.

im also a little worried about pulling the dash out of my dads car, if it was mine it would probly already be done. how easy is it to get thouse little prong tools and pop out the cassete and put a CD Reciever in?

you can buy the radio keys at walmart and pull the factory radio out. very simple. just disconnect the little hose thing in the driver side foot well and it'll come out alot easier.
