i just got my new HU, and the guy said ground the RCAs and there will be no whine. so what i did was wrap the RCAs (from the HU) in some 16 AWG wire, then put a little solder[sp] to help hold the wire on and keep a good connetion, then just ground the RCAs to the ground i use for my HU, but the whine is still there!!!

any advice?

PS i am goign to get some rest... long night and early mornign tmrw, but i will check tmrw morning. thanks in adv.!

Try grounding the rca jacks on a metal bolt/area on the dash or firewall. My pioneer sub outs were crap until I grounded them in the dash.
i will give it a shot tmrw. thanks!

BTW it is my speakers that are effected by far the most! idk if my sub has it or not, but i dont notice it... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

any more input?

tried grounding in the front, and in the back>?

you can always use coax and a ground block.

best way to gid rid of the whine is to switch HU mfg's

i had it grounded 3 times (to the HU itself, to the HU ground wire, AND dash ground...) still there. put the JVC in, no whine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

by front and back to you mean at the HU and the amp? (the two ends of the RCAs) and what do you mean by use coax and ground block //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

If the problem is your head unit, you have to ground the RCA's to the CASE of the head unit, not any other ground.
But the case of my HU has plastic protection all around it....

God ground loop isolaters work? i have one, but it made it worse when i tried using it... but i used it in the back by the amp, and grounded it to the amps ground... would it make a differetce if i did it up my the HU?
