best way to build box in 2002 eclipse?

hatch or trunk....i don't think 2 15's will fit in a proper size box in an eclipse...

IMO to get enough volume, i would say to use the entire trunk as an enclosure and sub/port up

I had a 2002 as well and was the GTS version.

Never had a system in besides swapping out my 3cft sealed box that was in my Focus ST. The 3cft fit. It was just to see how it would sound and then put it back in the focus as I had wires ran in the Eclispe cause I was going to put in a nice system, but ended up selling it.

I say if you plan on keeping it, build a nice ported enclosure in the hatch. Something custom looking with subs up port up like you said. There is a guy on here with same year I think that has a crazy setup! Running it off a 7k Stetsom I believe. Zelouis or something like that. He may be able to help you out. I know I butchered his name, but gives you an idea.

I have one 12" 500rms in my 00 GT, and it is PLENTY loud enough. It doesn't take much to make a hatchback loud. But, there is no way to get two 12s in a ported box in there. Definitely not two 15s sealed or ported.

I have a 00 Eclipse hatch and you can fit about 5^cubic feet or so depending on the box cutout.

I personaly took out the plastic trim all around the back as it was causing more rattle then good.

This summer I'm putting more sound deadner in and filling in the holes with that foam stuff, once that is dont will custom carpet my trunk. my box dint fit but just barley cuz of the wheels wells.

That box was over 5.5^feet tuned to 34hrtz.

That was 2 ported 12's.

Ummm, ok! Might want to insert foot in mouth when that/if Zealious guy gets on here. Strange you have never seen his setup. Been all over the place. See if I can find it.
