Best Tower speakers >$300

$300 is the range (I know it's not alot) and they will be for party music (want a decent thump), a little bit of everyday music (don't want it to sound like poo) and to START a surround sound for a HT setup (will add more in the future).....

depends what you think poop is? i say get at least $500 for EACH and you will be pleased anything from paradigm.monitor,b&w,deftech.

those cerving vegas you posted are just in your budget though its really depends what kind of music you like to listing to. if your only into hip hop or rap or rock then tehy will do just fine. but say you want to pop in some alicia keys or something wiht female vocals and alot of intrunemts thats where a not so good speaker will stand out.

if you want bookshelfs instead i suggest some b&w's and those will sound might good just you will need a subwoofer for the low end and those are way cheaper then towers..

I have a feeling that B&W's lower cost line isn't what he is looking for.

I think he is looking for output > quality, but still with some decent quality.

Look at JBL, Infinity, or others.

Unless you listen to and like those B&Ws. IN that case GET THEM!

they dont but i know ed is more known so without being able to hear them i say he get the eds...

they are very good though. but pricey
