Best Tower speakers >$300

Ive got a Pair of older Cerwin Vega RE-30's and they sound great. They have a 12" woofer, so they hit the lows pretty well. And they have pretty good quality also.
If they sound like the RE38s, then they sound decent.....imo. I definitely wouldnt say great. But I guess it is all preference...so maybe he'll think they sound great too. Great party speakers though. However, I wouldnt use them as my HT speakers.

Yea there not the best, but I think they sound good. They get loud as **** and still sound good. And x2 about being great party speakers.

Those old buggers like that I'm sure would stomp, and sound good doing it.

Are B&W's the best there is/think they're better than the ED's??
I'm pretty sure it's safe to say B&W > ED......

However, you have to take into account what they are going to be used for to make that statement.....

b&w isnt the best...
they are very good though. but pricey
Saying a speaker is the best is like saying ford is the best or Dodge is the best. It can't be done. There are way too many subjective things, however Bowers & Wilkins is one of the best.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I want good party speakers that can be used as my HT as well (to start me out)...That's why I am eyeing the ED's cuz they prob get very loud and sound good doing it...Just wish I had more neutral feedback on them!

If you're willing to do $500 a pair, I've got a pair of Klipsch Forte II's that I'd be willing to let go...they're more efficient than the eD's could ever hope to be, and with a 12" front firing driver and a 15" PR go deeper as well...

They get loud with my monoblocks, that do ~8W per side...I'd hate to think what they'd do with solid state amplification //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
